Uninstalling

gSyncit toolbar missing in Outlook and sync not working.

If the gSyncit Toolbar does not appear on the Outlook toolbar/ribbon tab then the sync will not work. You will also observe that attempting to sync from the gSyncit system tray does not trigger the sync. You will see the sync tooltip balloon appear but the sync does not occur.

Check is make sure the gSyncit Outlook add-in is active in Outlook and/or not marked as disabled in Outlook. Doing this will will vary depending on the version of Outlook you are using.


Verify that you have the latest avaialble update for gSyncit installed. Then right-click the gSyncit icon on the Windows system tray and click "Repair" as shown in the image below. The repair process will close Outlook and reset the gSyncit Outlook add-in settings automatically. Once completed start Outlook to confirm that the gSyncit Toolbar now appears in Outlook.




If the gSyncit toolbar does not appearin Outlook then see the details below for manually enabling the gSyncit Outlook add-in.

To enable the gSyncit Outlook add-in...

If using Outlook 2013/2016:

1. Start Outlook.
2. Click File
3. Click Manage Add-Ins (Slow and Disabled Add-Ins)
    
4. Click Always enable this add-in
    



If using Outlook 2010

1. Start Outlook
2. Click File
3. Click Options
4. Click Add-Ins.
5. Select COM Add-ins from the Manage Menu

   

6. Enable gSyncit if not marked as enabled.


   

7. Select COM Disabled Ites from the Manage Menu
8. Enable gSyncit if marked as disabled.



If using Outlook 2007:

1. Start Outlook
2. Click Help
3. Click Disabled Items
4. Enable gSyncit

    


If gSyncit is not listed as disabled then check that the gSyncit Outlook add-in is active.

1. On the Tools menu, click Trust Center, and then click Add-ins.
2. In the Add-ins box, identify the add-in that you want to enable or disable and note the Add-in type located in the Type column.
3. Select the Add-in type in the Manage box and then click Go.
4. Select or clear the check box for the Add-in that you want enable or disable and then click OK.



If using Outlook 2003/XP:

1. Start Outlook
2. Click Help
3. Click About
3. Click Disabled Items
4. Enable gSyncit



SOLUTION #2:


1. From the Windows start menu search for Outlook.exe
2. Right-click Outlook.exe and select Run as Administrator.
    
3. Navigate to the Outlook add-in settings (see above) and enable gSyncit.
4. Close Outlook and start it normally.



SOLUTION #3:


CHECKING MACRO SECURITY

In Outlook open the Macro Security settings and check that it is set to at least "Warnings for signed macros; all unsigned macros are disabled". It should not be set to "No warnings and disable all macros" as this will prevent gSyncit from loading into Outlook. After making this change go to the Outlook add-ins list and re-enable the "gSyncit for Outlook" addin.
