Product Summary
|
 |
gSyncit is a Microsoft Outlook
add-in that allows for synchronization of calendars, contacts,
notes, and tasks
between Google and Outlook.
-
Outlook Calendars
sync with Google Calendars
-
Outlook Contacts
sync with Gmail Contacts
-
Outlook Tasks sync
with Google Calendars.
Google offers a task list feature via Google calendars.
However, because Google does not provide programmatic access
to this feature gSyncit stores and managed Outlook tasks in
a Google calendar. If Google decides to provide a
programmatic interface to Google tasks then this feature
will be included into gSyncit as a free update.
It's recommended that a DEDICATED Google calendar be setup
exclusivly for managing tasks so that tasks and normal calendar
events do not reside in the same calendar and get get mixed together.
-
Outlook Notes sync
with Google Documents
Mobile Syncing with gSyncit
|
 |
gSyncit can be
used in conjunction with Google calendars to sync mobile content
with Outlook. This is what's referred to as using Google Services as a
"data conduit". gSyncit performs the functionality of syncing
Outlook data with Google services. Then, using one of several
mobile sync products available from Google, you can then sync
your Google data with your mobile devices.
For more information on Google mobile sync applications click
here.
For those interested in
syncing Outlook Notes with the Droid , gSyncit can sync Outlook
notes with Google documents. Then, using
GDocs on the Droid you can edit/manage your
Google document notes from your mobile device.

Once installed a new toolbar will appear
in Outlook allowing you to synchronize and configure gSyncit.

gSyncit loads into the windows system
tray for quick access to gSyncit functionality.

gSyncit's simple to use dialog allows
you to configure various mappings that link your Outlook and
Google data together.
gSyncit's various mapping types offer a
great deal of control over the sync process including allowing
manual delete configuration, disabling deletes all together, how
to handle conflicts, and control which directions to sync.
