January 2010
gSyncit
v2.0 is now out of beta and released.
This update includes the ability to sync Outlook
Tasks with Google calendars. v2.0 will include
all new features and enhancements that I plan to
add this year and beyond. Users that purchased a gSyncit license since January 1, 2009 can
upgrade to v2.0 for free. Which is a great deal. Users with a license
purchased before 2009 can purchase an upgrade
license for $4.99. This is the first time I've
released a product with such an upgrade
structure so I hope it seems fair to everyone.
December 2009
The
ability to sync Outlook Tasks with Google
calendars coming soon to gSyncit. No
release has been set but it is currently being
developed and an
early
access v2.0 beta (link on bottom) is now
available. I'm currently testing this
functionality and will release this
functionality as soon as possible.
November 2009
gSyncit
note sync now available. Now Outlook Notes can
be synchronized with Google documents. gSyncit also far exceeds expectations
and is currently helping sync data for tens of thousands of
active users. A big
thanks to everyone that has supported and
continues to support this applications ongoing
development.
October 2009
gSyncit
note and task sync is in the works.
Notes functionality will be available soon. Task
sync is still dependent on Google providing an
API to access the Google task list which is
still not available.
September 2009
gSyncit gets a very nice review on
The Hyper Visor.
August 2009
I just read
that the Google Tasks team is aware of the need
for a third party interface for accessing the
Google task lists.
So hopefully I'll be
able to integrate this functionality into
gSyncit soon. This is one of the most requested
features for gSyncit.
July 2009
After a slightly rocky start to the v1.15
gSyncit release it looks like things have
stabilized with the recently added support for
the Google Contact v3.0 support. Thanks for all
the feedback and everyone's patience as I worked
out many of the bugs in this latest release.
I
hope to add Google Calendar Tasks support as
soon as Google makes this possible. It has been
requested from Google for this ability and so
far they have not provided any interface for
accessing task information.
June 2009
Google
recently released their Contact v3.0 API protocol
update that allows for updating birthday information
in a contact record in addition to a number of other
fields. I spent the weekend updating Google's .NET
gdata API to support the the protocol changes (download
the gdata updates for .Net) and incorporate
this new functionality into the v1.15 update to
gSyncit due out soon.
For those interested, I'm
still waiting on Google to release an API to handle
tasks syncing. Google Tasks were release almost
6 months ago and Google has yet to release and API
for what is now turning out to be one of the most
requested API's from other developers. I hope they
releases an API soon.
April 2009
gSyncit's
popularity continues to grow and I appreciate all
the ideas a feedback users have been sending me.
I'm also still waiting for Google to release a Task
API so I can add it to gSyncit.
March 2009
This month I've been focusing
on the researching ways to implement the synchronization
of Outlook Tasks and Notes with Google GMail and
Calendar. Right now I can't really do much until
Google releases this functionality. Notes functionality
does not exist and Tasks does not have an API to
allow for third-party integration.
February 2009
More updates for gSyncit. I've been doing my best
to respond to all the emails I've been receiving!
I hope at the end of this month I can return back
to monthly releases ... I need a break! Thanks to
the thousands (yes, thousands!!!) that have downloaded
and registered gSyncit.
